According
to the book description of Price of Justice, “When straight-arrow detective Jason Scarsdale
unwittingly befriends a woman secretly bent on murderous revenge, he’s drawn into a web of malice that teaches him the
value of breaking the rules. Scarsdale, a recent widower, struggles to put his life back together while raising a young daughter.
Assigned to investigate two sex-related murders, he teams up with Dani Mueller, a police crime analyst with some deadly secrets
of her own. After navigating his way around the cross-hairs of two crooked police managers, he closes in on the killer. Just
when Scarsdale thought things couldn’t get any worse, the killer abducts his daughter and the analyst is kidnapped by
a man from her past.”
"Price of Justice grabs you from the
opening pages and tells a riveting
story about Detective Jason Scarsdale,
who is embroiled in trying to uncover
a serial killer while struggling with
being a widower and fighting for
custody of his young daughter.
Surprises and twists build tension as
Scarsdale begins honing in on the
killer--but he does not want to
believe what the evidence is
revealing. If you like a great legal
suspense thriller, don't miss this
book!" Susanne Lakin, Amazon

"It’s the characters, both sympathetic
and unsympathetic, that have to drive a
good detective story these days. Price of
Justice definitely has both, which makes
it a good solid mystery, with some dark
undertones, that a solid fan of the
genre is sure to enjoy." Shannon
Yarbrough, Amazon Top 1000 Reviewer
"Author Alan Brenham does a wonderful job
of allowing the reader to see within the
life of Austin PD Detective Jason
Scarsdale. . . . . While there is much
action, drama, and crime, there are also
touching scenes of the love of a father
and his daughter." Palmetto Review |
