Captain Cecil Pearson, Ret. is a nationally recognized international law enforcement consultant and training provider in law enforcement and correctional topics. He is a past consultant for the American Jail Association (AJA), provided consultant services to the Western Louisiana United States Attorney’s Office and, is a past consultant for Lockup USA, a video training provider. Further, he is a published author.

Captain Cecil Pearson is an experienced leader, trainer and presentation speaker. He has over 27 years in law enforcement and correctional principles, methods and practices. He is a graduate of the National FBI Academy (137 Session). Pearson’s practical experience includes working in the areas of Detention, Patrol and Detectives, retiring after 28 years of service from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, located in Reno, Nevada. His projected goal reached reality with the establishment of Pearson-Radli and Associates, Inc.  Cecil Pearson is the author of Hostage Situations.

About the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office a full-service law enforcement organization and “is a modern, dedicated, community-oriented law enforcement agency. The Sheriff's Office is responsible for all law enforcement patrol duties within the unincorporated area of the county, the service of civil process, records retention, issuing concealed weapons permits, court security, forensic investigation, criminal investigation, and all search and rescue functions within the county. The Washoe County Sheriff's Office is also responsible for operating the only adult detention facility for pretrial detainees within Washoe County.”

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is organized into a number of division such as Patrol and Detectives.  According to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, “The Patrol Division of the Washoe County Sheriff's Office is responsible for all law enforcement duties within the unincorporated area of Washoe County - an area of over 6,700 square miles.

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office Detective Division has a staff of 28 commissioned officers and 4 civilians. Detectives are assigned to specialized units including Crimes vs. Persons, Crimes vs. Property, Crimes vs. Juveniles, and the Incline Village Substation. One detective is assigned to the Reno Police Department's Repeat Offender Program and Sex Offender Unit. Detectives are also involved with other multi-agency units such as the Street Crimes Unit and the DEA Drug Interdiction Task Force.”
