The 247
sworn police officers of the East Orange Police Department provide law enforcement services for approximately 97,000 people
who live in the 3.2 square miles of East Orange, New Jersey. In 2003, the East
Orange Police Department developed an Enhanced Community Safety Team. This 25
police officer strong team’s main function is to fight street crime as well as address quality of life issues.
