Vincent
L. Inserra, USN, a first generation Italian, was born and raised in the Boston
area. He served as a Navy Fighter pilot during World War II and achieved the
rank of Lieutenant. He graduated from Boston College with a degree in Business
Administration. In 1951, he joined the FBI as a Special Agent and served for 25
years. In 1957, he was assigned to Organized Crime matters for 19 years
combatting the Chicago Crime Syndicate. He was in charge of the C-1 Organized
Crime Squad for a period of 13 years where they compiled an impressive record
of convictions against the Chicago mob. He received more than 100 personal
letters of commendation from the Director of the FBI for outstanding
investigative achievements. Following retirement from the FBI, he became
Corporate Security Director for Kemper Insurance in Long Grove, Illinois for 27
years. He has had two profoundly successful careers. Vincent L. Inserra is the
author of C-1 and the Chicago Mob.
