The Hackensack Police Department
was formed in 1896 for the purpose of Protecting and Serving the community. Over the past century, the department has grown
into a highly professional, technologically advanced law enforcement agency as well as a community oriented service organization.
The Hackensack Police Department is nationally recognized in many areas of law enforcement and community service for its many
different types of activities.
The Department is comprised of a Patrol
Division and five (5) specialized divisions. An Administrative Division oversees and coordinates the operation of the overall
department.
