Michael Maxwell, USA, “was
a Deputy for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department where he spent 10 years before entering Federal Service. He became
a Police/Security Director of major police operations on both the East and West coasts prior to becoming a trainer on many
subjects at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. Michael Maxwell's military career included two
combat tours in Viet Nam (Silver Star and two Purple Hearts) and later became a Special Forces Major in charge of a B-team,
which consists of 5 A teams. His specialty was Intelligence. He was one of seven Americans awarded Honorary Doctorates for
work in Iraq.
His final police mission was training
the Presidential Protection Detail for the President of Liberia, Africa, under the auspices of the United States Department
of Justice and Department of State. He authored a book on building security company manuals published by Abbot-Langer of Chicago
(Illinois). Upon death, he had two other books ready for market. One a novel called “Jakarta Moon",
which was drawn from his lengthy work in Indonesia; the second, titled Practical Countermeasures Against Terrorism: A guide
for public and private managers. That book will be available in 2010.”
