It could be a father, son, sister, brother or
mother
A patrolman, detective, command officer or some
other
Who puts their life on the line for crime to
fight
Always on duty; morning, noon and night
These are the people on the backside of the
shield
With power to arrest only one of which they
yield
Let us not forget that there is a person, much
like you and me
Who is on the backside of the badge and is our
safety trustee
But who protects those who dare to serve and
protect
To stand in their defense as they often risk
their neck
Sometimes it seems if the backing is just not
there
While they know that there are people who
really do care
So for those who appreciate the men and women
who professionally protect and serve
Please give them the support and
acknowledgement they so much deserve
A difficult and dangerous job these protectors
perform
Let us bring back support and make respect for
them the norm.
