To the badge that covers my husband's heart I
have but a few things to say:
I take great pride in seeing you on his
chest each and every day;
You cover a heart full of valor and
strength; one that loves his family and has
empathy for those in need;
It's powerful and strong when the need
arises; running toward danger for those in
crisis;
It breaks under the power of grief at the
loss of a friend but remains strong and true
and gallant to the end;
You not only cover the heart of this police
officer every day, you cover the heart of
the man that I love and will for always
