Barbed wire— is what
now surrounds me
As I enter in to face—what’s now ahead
My uniform and belt are awfully heavy
As my fears themselves I try to tread
As I make my way to—doors of steel
To hear the locks sound right beside me
Any worries or fear I now conceal
As I’m now—the devils adversary
Evil ways are all that’s known
To the men I lock away
Violence and tension often shown
As wolves seek out their prey
Standing between the world and them
Is my fellow officers and me
As sheepdogs we are compelled to condemn
And stand strong in times of adversity
