Dr.
Prateep V. Philip is a member of the Indian Police Service. Currently, he is the
Inspector General of Police, Social Justice and Human Rights, Tamil Nadu,
Chennai, India. During his law enforcement career, he has served as the as
District Superintendent of Police of Four Districts, SP, Narcotics Intelligence
Bureau of Tamil Nadu, Principal, Police Training College and as DIG, CB CID
(Special Investigation Team) Chennai, DIG Intelligence, DIG Tirunelveli Range.
He has a BA in Economics, Political Science and History; an MA in Political
Science and International Relations; and, a PhD in Public Administration.
Dr. Prateep V Philip, IPS is a versatile innovator. He is the first police
officer to conceive and develop the Friends of Police concept and movement
globally. He was awarded the inaugural British Gurukul Chevening Scholarship for
Excellence and Leadership for study of globalization at the London School of
Economics. Dr. Philip has completed his doctorate in management studies.
Currently serving as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Training, in Tamil Nadu, he has had successive tenures as DIG Intelligence, DIG Tirunelveli Range,
and Commissioner, Trichy City. He has also created several innovative concepts
like Equilibrium Thinking, Assurance, Factor X and Exonomics. He won the
inaugural prestigious Her Majesty, the Queens Award for Innovation in Police
Training and Development, 2002.
