About the Clinton Township Police

Clinton Township Police Department is a small, yet full-service law enforcement agency with a number of specialized units.
As an example, according to the Clinton Township Police Department, “The Charter Township of Clinton
Township Police Department’s Bicycle Unit (B.P.U.) began patrol duties in July 1999. The Unit started with six (6) uniformed
officers. It is currently staffed with ten (10) officers consisting of one (1) Lieutenant, one (1) Sergeant, and eight (8)
Patrol Officers.

Safety Bureau was dedicated in 2001. The foundation of the Bureau is residential traffic safety through
education and enforcement. The Bureau is also responsible for abandoned autos, accident investigation and
educating our citizens on safety issues i.e. seat belts, drunk driving and the rules of the road. The Bureau
has two accident reconstructionists for fatal accident investigations and three child seat technicians who are available
to the public for child seat inspections. The radar trailer that you may have seen around the Township
is maintained through the Traffic Bureau and is deployed throughout the Township.”
