Following service in the US Army Air Corps, Theodore H. Blau earned his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from Penn State University. In 1952, he moved to Tampa, Florida and established an independent practice in clinical psychology.  Theodore Blau was one of the psychologists who focused in child psychology.  In 1975, he became the president of the American Psychological Association.

 

Shortly after his term as the APA president, Theodore Blau’s began to focus on forensic psychology.  He developed a national reputation as an expert witness in civil and criminal cases.  In 1985, he began working as a police psychologist and was commissioned as a chief inspector of the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

 

Theodore Blau is the author of The Psychologist as Expert Witness, Psychotherapy Tradecraft: The Technique and Style of Doing Therapy, The Psychological Examination of the Child, Psychological Services to Law Enforcement and The Forensic Documentation Sourcebook: A comprehensive Collection of Forms and Records for Forensic Mental Health Practice.
