the Kennewick Police Department
The
Kennewick Police Department (Washington) the 92 sworn police officer of the department is organized into four large entities:
Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Staff Services and Administrative Services.
The
Patrol Division of the Kennewick Police Department consists of several units, which include the uniformed Patrol force, the
Reserve officer unit, the K-9 unit, Traffic unit and SWAT. The Criminal Investigation Division is responsible for investigating
most felony crimes along with high profile cases of all natures. These include homicides, assaults, sexual assaults, ICAC
(Internet Crimes Against Children), burglaries, drug crimes, auto thefts and other felony crimes. The division consists of
the following units: Crimes Against Persons, Crimes Against Property, Internet Crimes Against Children, Tri City Metro Drug
Task Force (two Kennewick detectives), Polygraph Examiner, and the Criminal Apprehension Team. These investigative teams also
are involved with numerous community partners throughout the community.
The
Staff Services Division delivers a variety of services to our community. The division is comprised of several units including
Code Enforcement, Crime Analysis, Evidence, Youth Services, Records Bureau, Animal Control oversight, Public Information (PIO),
Crime Prevention, Sex Offender tracking and notification, and Crime Resistant Community Living.
The
Office of Professional Standards (Administrative Services) Division provides service to both internal and external customers.
The division is comprised of several units including The Office of Professional Standards, Internal Affairs, the Training
Unit, and the Kennewick Police Department Volunteer program.
